Here, a workout is never just a workout. While facilities include a fully-equipped fitness centre with state-of-the-art technology by technogym, a 17-metre twin lane stainless-steel indoor swimming pool with lap timer, a vitality pool, sanarium and amethyst crystal steam room, carefully chosen details take fitness and relaxation to a new level. There’s a custom-designed pilatespt studio with training programmes devised by award-winning trainer hollie grant, and it is home to the renowned model method, a science-based workout programme regarded as one of the best hiit workouts in the world.

    The spa also offers a diverse range of treatments which use chinese medicine, bastien gonzalez renowned manicures and pedicures and anti-ageing nescens facials. There are 13 luxurious treatment rooms, which sit alongside the oriental suite, featuring two massage beds and a rasul water temple, loved for its health-enhancing heat, steam and mud, providing the ultimate in conditioning treatments. Meanwhile, the therapies are a combination of mandarin oriental’s own signature therapies, together with face and body treatments using mandarin oriental’s bespoke signature oils, nescens, aromatherapy associates, sodashi and linda meredith products. There are also two beauty rooms where guests can enjoy a series of results-driven express treatments such as philip kingsley hair therapy or linda meredith express facials.

    Please note: vitality pools, sanariums and steam rooms are separate for male and female guests, to provide a private experience. There are however mixed relaxation rooms where couples can lounge and spend some time together before and after treatments.

    At one of the most prestigious addresses in london, between the buzz of knightsbridge and the royal parks, mandarin oriental hyde park fuses contemporary design and hospitality with timeless heritage. Following an extensive renovation under the guidance of designer joyce wang, the glamorous hotel is inspired by the golden age of travel, a theme that flows through the rooms, suites and public areas. Accommodation ranges from superior rooms all the way to a collection of bespoke suites that each have their own design details and style. Throughout however, there is a distinctly modern take on art deco finesse, with carefully chosen details such as onyx chandeliers, marble bathrooms, leather topped desks and hand gilded mirrors.

    Everything at mandarin oriental hyde park is a feast for the senses, so it is fitting that dining is almost a theatrical experience. The hotel has three outstanding restaurants, one of which has michelin stars, and there’s a superb bar as well. Dinner by heston blumenthal is a seductive experience that takes you on a journey inspired by historic british gastronomy. Through floor-to-ceiling glass walls, diners enjoy a view of the kitchen in an environment inspired by a royal court. A spit rotates over a fire, custom-made porcelain wall sconces are in the shape of antique jelly moulds and views are of hyde park, king henry viii’s former hunting ground. Bar boulud meanwhile is more chic bistro by michelin-starred chef daniel boulud and specialising in seasonal, rustic french cooking. The rosebery is the place for afternoon tea, and the mandarin bar is a cool, contemporary bar where you can unwind in style.
