The dedicated spa garden is an exclusive space comprising an outdoor infinity edge pool, warmed loungers, glass fronted sauna and sumptuous daybeds is run in pre-booked sessions throughout the day, with a maximum of 16 people at a time and no one under the age of 16. For those looking to be a little more active, there is also a gym, exercise studios, and nordic walking in the grounds.     In 375 acres on the banks of the river tees and dating back to 1774, rockliffe hall has quite a history, acting as a hospital and the backdrop for parts of michael caine’s 1971 film get carter. Today it is a five star hotel with 61 spacious rooms characterised by original features such as stained glass windows, marble pillars, and ornate ceilings alongside contemporary furnishings.

    Whilst retaining its gothic charm, the flagship orangery restaurant has a walk-in wine cellar that’s home to thousands of bins from around the world.
