10 Things To Add To Your Travel Bucket List For 2019


1. Travel solo 



Imagine waking up in a new city, no rules, no judgement, everything at your own pace just waiting for an adventure to sweep you up. This may sound daunting but taking some time alone in the name of self-care could be just what you need. Arm yourself with that book you’ve been meaning to read and you’re good to go!

2. Learn a new skill



Cooking classes are a fun and easy way to try your hand at either cooking a new cuisine or dish with personal guidance on hand to help. Taking you step by step through a few dishes of your choice the class is sure to leave you satisfied and you’ll have something to impress your friends with next time its your turn to host!

 3. Try a local delicacy

Going to a new city and not having the food that you’re used to being readily available can be a little nerve racking especially if you’re a fussy eater. However have no fears you may not like something but at least you tried it. What’s the worst that could happen? Never know you might find something that surprises you.

4. Enjoy the hostel life

Hostels are known to be some of the friendliest places when you’re a traveller. Everyone staying there is just trying to have a few new experiences and meet some nice people to do it with. If you’re not big on the whole dorm bed situation opt for a private room so you can still enjoy all the social benefits.

5. Try your hand at photography

With the ever-evolving camera quality in smartphones just about anyone is able to try their hand at photography and what a better time than when your travelling and have so many beautiful things around you to snap. App stores offer an abundance of free editing apps so once you’ve got your shot, play around with some edits and start posting!

6. Go on a hike!

The great outdoors is said to do wonders for the soul so why not head out there and see what Mother Nature has to offer. Start off with a trail for beginners, bring along your favourite playlist and some headphones, picnic blanket and snacks to make a day of it.

7. Visit a Museum

Known to hold a whole host of knowledge, museums are the ultimate mind stimulating afternoon out. With each city having countless of them, on topics from breakfast cereals to World Wars a quick google search is sure to dig up a subject you’re interested in.

8. See a Wonder of the World 



With the list recently updated to 10 sites there will surely be an option that either man or nature has created which is guaranteed to take your breath away. Choices like Matchu Piccu in Peru which require a lengthy 40km trek may not be what you’re into but wonders like the Colosseum simply need a cheap entrance ticket for you to gain access.

9. Take in a Carnival

Either home or away there are a multitude of carnivals around the world which all have the same goal… Dance and have fun! With carnival part-takers dressed up in brightly coloured feathers and sequins showing of their best moves down streets lined with a clapping and fun audience is a great day out. 


10. Visit a Historical site 



Being a main tourist attraction in many places historical sites can be much more fun than you may expect. Go with a group of friends, join a tour and have some laughs alongside learning something new about a ruin.
